    Kiddie-Raping: It’s a Buddhist “Thing” too…

    July 29th, 2011

Child rape and sex abuse surface in US Buddhist temples

Sexual abuse of children… it’s not just for Catholic priests any more. And, as it turns out, enabling and cover-ups are not a Catholic monopoly either. According to a July 24 article in the Chicago Tribune, Theravada Buddhist monks are walking away from sex abuse accusations and temple superiors are frustrating law enforcement by insisting they have no control over monks’ actions or whereabouts.

Take the case of Camnong Boa-Ubol, for instance. According to a lawsuit filed against the Wat Dhammaram Theravada Temple in Chicago, a 12-year old girl told his superiors that the “monk had turned off the lights during a tutoring session, lifted her shirt and kissed and fondled her breasts while pressing against her…”
“We have done our best to restore the order,” the letter said.

But 11 years later, the monk, Camnong Boa-Ubol, serves at a temple in California, where he says he interacts with children even as he faces a second claim, supported by DNA, that he impregnated a girl in the Chicago area.

I’ve never heard it called that before!

    Catholic Dude backs marriage equality

    July 2nd, 2011

The Ecumenical Catholic Church of Australia has come out strongly in support of both civil and religious same-sex marriage.

In a statement provided to the Star Observer, Archbishop Ronald Langham wrote that following the “historic and courageous” vote on same-sex marriage in New York, “the New York State Catholic Conference stated that the granting of marriage rights to same-sex persons will ‘alter radically and forever humanity’s historic understanding of marriage’.

“They are of course right. Where they err is in the premise that this is a bad thing.

“It is not the position of all Christian churches that same-sex activity or marriage cannot be a life-giving and Holy experience … Science and medicine have long ago settled the question of the ‘normalcy’ of homosexuality.

“The Ecumenical Catholic Church of Australia is one church that does not share the fear of sexuality, intimacy, love and commitment that same-sex couples are able to experience.

“The time for argument on matters such as homosexuality or same-sex marriage is past.

Langham said now was a time for both “action and rejoicing”.

“Action that impels politicians in Australia to join the real world and find some political guts, and rejoicing that celebrates the beauty of same-gender commitment and the desire to express that commitment in the same way as any other couple.

“[S]ame-sex marriage will reinforce the concept of marriage that calls for a lifelong commitment between two people who love and care for each other.”

    Yep: He’s gay.

Twats in Hats Still Want to Tell You What to Do With Your Private Parts.

    Marriage Alarm?

A QUEENSLAND Catholic ethicist has hailed the release of the document – Revising Marriage – as a valuable step towards
understanding the full impact of same-sex marriage on Australian society.

Queensland Bioethics Centre director Dr Ray Campbell said Catholics and other concerned community members should read this and other documents to gain balance and a broader understanding in what is currently “pretty much a one-sided debate”.

Dr Campbell said “just because Anna Bligh says same-sex marriage is a fundamental right for human beings doesn’t make it so”.

I think that I can guess on which side of the bread Dr Campbell is buttered.

Bloody interfering catholix. If they kept their sexual frustrations and hangups to themselves, the world would be a better place.

But not in the deep north.

    Arrest Leaves me Agape!

    June 26th, 2011

THE leader of an alleged Adelaide doomsday cult has been arrested in Fiji for breaching his visa.

Adelaide’s appalling weekend rag, The Sunday Mail, reports Leo was arrested following a dramatic commando-style boat raid at a former Fijian resort.

South Australian police have been looking for Leo since last May, when they raided 12 properties associated with the cult and uncovered a hoard of explosives, ammunition and weapons.

I (wrongly) stated a few days ago that Rocco Leo was unlikely to return to Adelaide.

I had not counted on it being involuntary!

    _______________________

    UPDATE:

Agape cult leader Rocco Leo may not face justice in Australia despite his arrest in Fiji last week.

The 56-year-old, who is wanted for fraud offences, has dual passports and, if deported, could be sent to the country of his other citizenship.

    UPDATE II:
Fugitive cult leader Rocco Leo has avoided a default judgment against him in the Adelaide District Court after hiring legal representation.

He hired a Lawyer using Skype!

    Face-palm!!

    June 24th, 2011

Residents of Urandangi, south-west of Mount Isa in outback Queensland, are hoping to build the community’s first church.

Guess what the local publican, Pam Forster, says.
    C’mon, guess!

“It’s something that everybody needs – to have religion of some sort,” she said.

That is egregious enough, but the face-palm comes with her saying:

“Plus we’d like to use it as a safehouse for children experiencing violent abuse and anything like that.

Hasn’t she read the news in the last 5 years?
Churches are hotbeds (sic) of child rape!
And abuse, physical and mental, in truck-loads.

She then follows up that gem, sparkling of 24ct. stupid, with:

“If it’s something on a weekend – we can have different things there for the kids as well, we can run programs for the kids.”

Adelaide’s Own Little Krazy-Kult Exasperates Court

    June 24th, 2011

Court’s patience running out with fugitive cult leader

Adelaide’s own little cult, curiously called “Agape”, that was plainly designed to attract those swimming in shallow end of the gene-pool, is in the news again.

Disabled woman Silvana Melchiorre claims she was made to sell her house and give all the proceeds to Agape, a total of more than $400,000.

    A fool and their money…

Another former member, Martin Penny, claims he gave more than $1 million, also under false pretences.

How the fuck do these brain-dead cretins accumulate such vast funds?

No wonder they call themselves “Agape”, for that is how I reacted to the news of their stellar gullibility!

Fugitive cult leader Rocco Leo may be forced to pay damages to former members of his religious group if he does not instruct a lawyer to attend a court hearing next week.

You ain’t gonna see that wily con-man back in Oz!

Blame religion for livestock torture: Aussie MP

    June 22nd, 2011

I don’t often see eye-to-eye with our Konservative MPs, especially those from the deep north, but here is one spouting a modicum of sense for a change:

    From The Age

    Blame religion for livestock torture

AN OPPOSITION MP has attacked Labor for shutting down the live cattle trade to Indonesia but not condemning ”the religion that actually inspires the torture of the cattle there”.

Mr Christensen singled out three Labor MPs – Kelvin Thomson, Melissa Parke and Janelle Saffin – for blaming Australian farmers but not saying anything on the question of religion.

”There are many different culprits in the whole thing, [but] certainly the people who are doing this are not Australian farmers. The people who are doing it are Indonesian abattoir workers and their mates who, they say, are acting in accordance with their religious principles,” Mr Christensen said.

    Burkha Appealing?

    June 21st, 2011

Appeal upheld in Sydney burka case

    (On a minor technicality)

A Sydney woman sentenced to jail for accusing a police officer of trying to remove her burka has won her appeal.

Carnita Matthews was found guilty in June last year of making a false statement.
Ms Matthews was sentenced to six months’ jail after she accused the officer of forcibly trying to remove her veil during a random breath test in Sydney.
He fined her for not displaying her P-plates properly and she accused him of being racist.
A District Court judge has upheld an appeal against the guilty verdict because of doubts about who had made the written complaint about the incident which was central to the case.
The judge found the prosecution could not prove that she knowingly made a false complaint and whether it was actually her who signed off on it.
Her lawyer Stephen Hopper says she is pleased with the outcome.
“Canita’s feeling very relieved. She’s glad it’s all over. It’s been a harrowing experience, particularly that a lady who has had no prior convictions was sentenced at the first instance to six months in jail,” he said.

“Clearly there was an issue relating to the identity of the person who signed the statutory declaration.”

The official judgment will be handed down later this week.

Oh, and don’t be a puerile dick-head and put down something like “Jedi”, or whatever.
You’ll only come out looking like a retarded 9 year-old, and pollute the very mission that serious adult campaigns like this are attempting to achieve.

Unelected Exiled Homophobic Dictator Welcomed to Oz.

    June 9th, 2011

Dalai Lama Lands to Sickening Fawning Sycophantic Welcome.

The famed homophobe, and unelected political and spiritual* “leader” of Tibet, has plonked in Australia for another (his 8th to Oz) expensive tour to massage his enormous ego, resulting in great expense for the taxpayer, for no good reason.

Of course, that theological fuckwit, Tony Abbot is meeting him, but I fail to understand why the openly gay Bob Brown is choosing to entertain the Lama.

At least our previous PM refused to meet the self-serving bastard.
