This is an example of why I am a staunch anti-theist.
Two Muslim men have been sentenced to five years in prison for firebombing a church in Malaysia in January.
The attack took place during a dispute about whether non-Muslims can use the word “Allah” to refer to God.
The very concept of a ‘magic’ name is childish, (nay: stunningly infantile), primitively superstitious and above all: flamin’ bloody IGNORANT.
To set fire to a public building over such a trivial matter shows the toxic nature of the religion mind-virus.
And don’t tell me that these are ‘extremists’, and that normal Muslims don’t do this, please.
Without ‘normal’ Muslims, these puerile pricks would have been locked away in a mental institution well before they could enact their insane fantasies.
It is only BECAUSE of the so-called average ‘tolerant’ Muslims that these psychopaths are given cover.
Your ‘average’ religious person, and I include all ‘people of faith’ here: Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Anamists etc, is as much to blame for the extremists by actively supporting and protecting their dangerous delusions.
Of especial concern are women who volunteer to support the raging misogyny that is a required element of popular churches.
These are considered “average” church members.
“Average” religious folk demand genital mutilation of their offspring. Your average Jew is especially assiduous in committing this disgusting crime upon their helpless infants.
You can add to this list of the ‘average’ religious persons’ outrageous crimes ad infinitum.
I will add to that list of enablers of loonies: accomodationists or ‘faitheists’ or whom I call “goddly-coddlers”.
In other words, self-professed atheists & agnostics who want me to shut up and not criticise faith-based lunacy in a robust manner. (Yes, I am looking at you Chris Mooney)
They beg/command me to lie about reality, in order to gain a totally illusory short-term political advance.
I have less respect for faitheists than I do the rabid Fundy, who at least practices what they preach, literally.
Here endeth the lesson.
