Female Islamic police have smashed 80,000 bottles of beer in the Nigerian city of Kano,  trying to enforce a sharia-law ban on consumption of alcohol that exists in much of the country’s north.

It’s a crying shame. Coopers’ will be upset:

The sale and consumption of alcohol, like all forms of drugs and intoxicants, is illegal in Kano state, which practices sharia law and by this event we are enforcing that ban,” Dr Dukawa said.

“All forms of drugs” includes caffeine, aspirin and tobacco, you bloody god-addled hypocrite.

Nigeria is Africa’s most populous nation, and roughly half of the 150 million population is Muslim.

In further news: roughly half of the population is grossly under-educated, male, and desperate for some grasp on power in their lives.

Although I must admit to surprise that the sharia police were a female squad.

Perhaps they were using their religion as an excuse to finally exercise rightful dominance over their drunken abusive boyfriends/partners/rapists?

If so: right move, wrong tool.

I had a thought, and then dismissed it: That Sharia Law in the hands of females might be a force for good, in the short term.

But: Then I remembered that those who predominantly insist upon Female Genital Mutilation, especially the criminal abomination referred to as Infibulation, (but more correctly called Clitorodectomy) in Africa appear to be almost exclusively female.
