Gateaux Saint Mary MacKillop
Jason Van Leuven says he is working on a dessert he hopes it will be as popular as the Australian favourite, the pavlova.
“It will be the second dessert in Australia that has been named after someone.”
I think it is a good choice, myself. (Quite apart from separating the credulous from their credit.)
Jason’s Gateaux reminds me very much of the bible:
- Incredible
- Sickly-sweet in parts
- Not good for growing children
- Hard to swallow in large amounts
- Manufactured
- Rots parts inside your your skull
- Expensive
- Induces profound guilt
- Makes priests’ hands sticky
- Hard to Passover
- Can be served with spirits
- Contain nuts
- Claimed to be “Heavenly”
- Has short use-by date
- Unbalanced intake
- Addictive to the weak-willed
