Goulburn Archbishop contradicts himself in failed attempt at plausible deniability
It starts well enough:
The Archbishop of Canberra and Goulburn, Mark Coleridge, has called on Catholic leaders to do everything possible to stop sexual abuse within the Church.
It then switches to denial:
He has told Radio National that although the level of abuse in the Church is small, every incident is appalling.
What does he mean by “small”? Enormous, perhaps?
He then has an epic fail:
“No one now can deny the scale of the problem and the urgent task”
But you just did deny it!!
Christ almighty! (sic) He should join cirque du solei with his amazing backflip act whilst whistling out of his voluminous tax-free arsehole.
If he really wants to do the right thing, he could become a bounty-hunter and turn in his fellow paedophiles to the justice system. He is in an ideal position to “work it from the inside”, a common manoevre amongst the clergy, it seems.
Now that is something that I would welcome from the RCC. An inquisition against priests. Hunt them down and treat them like the verminous scum that they. Do you blokes in frocks still have your racks and thumbscrews? You know: the ones that you used on atheists & scientists. Turn them to some real use, for a change.
