Hoo-bloody-ray!! Yay!
We are having a tangible effect:
Diocese needs its own bishop to survive: Priest
This puts paid to all of the doom and gloom that dribbles from the mouths of the pearl-clutching ‘faitheists’: atheists who wrongly claim that telling it like it is only ‘puts off’ moderate believers.
Well, this kind of weak-kneeded false respect has not managed to budge the Catholic Church in over 1900 years, but a decade or less of ‘in yer face’ atheism has the RCC on the run; the Pope could well be indicted for crimes against humanity, and diocese such as the one mentioned are closing down.
Priests are being jailed and, (for example in Germany), there is a veritable Noachic flood of complaints of rape and torture flowing in from victims who now don’t feel cowed into silence, and who know that they are going to be listened-to by the so-called “New Atheists”.
Well, if I am forced to wear the false epithet of being a New Atheist, and that is the burden that I bear: one of enabling victims of church institutional rape to be able to voice their experiences, andpossibly get some justice dealt, then it is a trivial price to pay.
