Church of England issues prayers for UK voters
The Church of England has published a series of prayers for confused UK voters to help remind them that their vote still matters.
Apparently, voters are so despondent about their political parties that they don’t really know if their votes matter any more. To help, the Church is trying to raise their hopes and instill them with a sense of power once more.
I’m sure that kind of support comes with a price: the Church makes the punters feel better and sways them to vote conservative. In a way, it’s nice to see someone reaching out and trying to make a difference… on the other hand, why does it have to a religious organisation with an obvious agenda?
The South Australian government adverts that were recently run on TV and radio were an attempt at reinforcing the importance of voting and of being heard and, while the ads were often quite daggy, at least they were unbiased.
