Apparently: Atheists are ‘fuelling sectarian conflict’.

Monash University Professor Gary Bouma says people without a specific faith are fuelling sectarian conflict and cause division in society.

What is the evidence for such a barmy notion?

“Conflict comes up when groups vilify, deny the right to build the mosques,” he told the Studies of Religion in Focus conference in Sydney today.

I presume he is referring to Switzerland, no?

“Or when the ‘nones’ – those who are anti-theist – [say] ‘You’re stupid’, that religious voices should be driven out of the public policy area, that religion shouldn’t be in schools, etc.

That is true. When religious cretins want to teach outright fraudulent infantile lies in schools, they should be driven out.

“That is conflict, and that is highly divisive in this society.”

No, it is conflict that is protecting society. The conflict comes entirely from the religiotards who wish to lie to our kiddies. (And rob our taxes with which to so do, as well.)

Professor Bouma says a growth in religious diversity in recent years has created problems for Australian schools.

Yep, it sure has. Problems such as teachers feeling too scared to tell the truth and teach a little thing called ‘reality’.

He says schools have to work out to how to encourage respectful engagement between students and teachers of various religions.

Why? Why not teach respectful engagement with flat-earthers or cannibals? It is this immunity from criticism that religion has used to get away with torture & rape of schoolchildren in the past. The Prof seems to think that this is a good thing.

“Schools have a whole variety of competing loyalties within the teachers and within the students,” he said.

Yep: Lies vs. Truth is one of those loyalties. The Prof seems to think that telling lies is a good thing.

“It can sometimes go to conflict if there’s a viewpoint that some don’t want expressed.

And a Bloody good thing, too! And where does this conflict originate? From the delusional indoctrinated religious cretins who specifically WANT their offspring to be intellectually crippled & retarded. That is where the conflict comes from.

With groups that do not deserve respect, you do not give them respect. Duh.
