Atheist Bus Campaign in Melbourne to coincide with Global Convention
It’s a phenomenon that started in London late in 2008 and has since gone global: the atheist bus campaign. Busses with advertisements like, “There’s probably no God -now stop worrying and enjoy your life,” have already appeared all across Europe, the United States, Canada and elsewhere. The latest city to have such a campaign is Melbourne, Australia. APN Outdoors, the company that controls what appears on the sides of busses, intially refused to run the advertisements but Australian atheists persisted and currently 24 Melbourne busses now display the slogan, “Atheism – celebrate reason,” on their backs. The number will rise to 40 later in the month.
