Greens want the Lord’s Prayer ousted
From the West Australian:
The Greens want the Lord’s Prayer scrapped in the State Upper House as part of one of the biggest shake-ups of rules and procedures for the Legislative Council.
Greens MP Giz Watson said yesterday the party made the submission to a parliamentary committee which is reviewing the rules of the House.
“We’re supposed to have separation of State and Church and not everybody is Christian,” she said.

Great!
But, unfortunately we are not ’supposed’ to have separation of church & state, at least it is a nominal fairy-wish, not mandatory.
The supreme head of Oz is also the Supreme Head of the Anglican Church. She would feel quite miffed at having her church and state separated, much as her namesake’s sister (Mary) objected to having her head of state separated from her body-of-state.
