Full price for Atheists!
Well, it was bound to happen: a restaurant in the US is offering a 10% discount to any customers who bring in a church bulletin, proving that they’re not evil atheists.
On the one hand, it’s nice to see the self-defense mechanisms of culture attempting to out those who “don’t belong” and reward those that share the same religion (which some consider same religion = same values).
On the other hand, it violates US Federal law by discriminating against non-church goers, tourists, other religions, churches without bulletins, and of course: atheists.
Methinks the idea wasn’t thought out entirely well.

This was covered by the Atheist Community of Austin (Texas) some time ago, if I recall correctly, and it turns out that the situation when investigated seems not have been as dire as reported.
I’ll check up on it when I get the time…
